About
Bobbie is based in Birmingham, UK.
After leaving a career in Environmental Consultancy, she is now a practicing artist with her work being collected internationally.
Bobbie specialises in large scale bold abstract oil paintings that often incorporate metallic elements.
Bobbie's work is process based and often begins with an emotion and develops based on her initial mark making. She uses bold colours straight from the tube which she selects in response to a natural forms and landscapes.
Bobbie's unique process layers natural colours with metallic elements. This is inspired by the Japanese method of repairing pottery called Kintsugi. Cracks are repaired using gold, silver or bronze and treats the repair of an object as honouring its history. Bobbie takes this theory in her work to repair her broken thoughts that she expresses on canvas, but makes them beautiful and the stand out area of her work by using metallics.
